"Why fall in love with a broad you can trust?  That’s like reading a book you already know the ending to."

Louie Shorts lives in a flophouse on Bunker Hill, a neighborhood of fading Victorians, tough bars, and dark alleys. Krystyna had a great design for Louie's ready to go at the beginning. Louie's room was going to be in the attic of a Victorian with the ceiling angling in on both sides. She designed the lobby. staircase and the long hallway. But when it came time to build it we had to choose the cheaper choice and find a space that would work. Fortunately the Lacy Street Production Center in downtown Los Angeles has an area that would incorporate all the elements of her design except the angled ceiling.

The empty room that would become Louie's sancturary.

Art Department decorating the room the day before shooting the scene. Krystyna put in a plank floor and the peeling wallpaper.

Krystyna always found the greatest furniture and set peices.

Louie loves ducks, so the room was filled with ducks and the front door had a duck knocker.
